A pretty antique Edwardian lavaliere necklace from the early 1900s featuring a sweet, little cherub face hand-carved from a frosted moonstone. It’s beautifully detailed and has a magical inner glow that intensifies with the light. Two feathered wings also stretch out from each side and are encrusted with twinkling rose cut diamonds, edged with milgrain
The mystifying moonstone derives its name from the stone’s ethereal, luminescent light that was once believed to be moonlight in solid form. In Greek mythology they were associated with Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and said to be a path to love, wisdom and new beginnings.
The pendant is fashioned in silver and backed in 9ct gold. It joins an ornate gold chain made up of entwined, faceted rings and leads to a secure tube clasp at the top. It’s a wonderful antique find and in pristine condition.
We recommend you insure for £7,500. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
